worst way to die?
January 30, 2008
I came across this article on death. click here.
The worst type of death, according to Becker’s theory, would be one that followed an insignificant life.
the article suggests immoliation as one of the worst ways to die.
quotes of the day
January 24, 2008
"basketball 101 is Love the game first and it’ll be good to you."
- Baron Davis (in a Jim Rome interview)
Of course, we always have one for the NYK:
"I would only make deals to help our future — anything else is suicide. Anything else and you become the New York Knicks."
- Mike Dunlevy (L.A. Clippers head coach)
comment on Dunlevy quote:
"Dunleavy publicly calling out the Knicks is hilarious. You know your franchise sucks when the Clippers are trying to avoid becoming you. "
hehehe… =P
roll with the punches
January 22, 2008
Some days, things just don’t go your way.
Just gotta roll with the punches sometimes.
new stove!!!
January 21, 2008
Half of the old stove isn’t working anymore. That left one small burner (w/c heated up veeeeeerrrrryyyyyy sllllooooowwwwwwlllllyyyyy ).
Last time I cooked a lot, it took me two nights of no sleep.. That’s real slow. This new coil-type electric stove promises to do the job a lot faster.
Anyway.. I got it just a while ago, and I had my first meal in it. Great! =D
Yeah, kinda feels like getting a new laptop or new runners. =D
unexpected
A couple of unexpected "goodluck" messages came my way on one of the most hectic days so far in this job.
Now stuff like that doens’t really have a big effect on me normally. I guess it has a different effect due to the fact that I was under a lot of stress.
Anyway, that was one pleasant surprise.
nice. =)
talk about work
January 17, 2008
Don’t you notice that some people can’t stop talking about work?
Lines like these are symptoms of the pain in the ass these folks can be sometimes: "We implemented so and so…", "Back when I was a newbie, I did this and that for this company and the older guys were..", "I came up with this really cool framework, blah blah..", "In the states, we hold our officers accountable and we can tell them off…" etc…
Yes, we do understand that you guys want to set a good example of how things can be done. Yes, we understand that you do know your thing. Yes, we do understand that you want to influence changes at work. It’s all noble and good. Honestly.. the intentions are really good.
but….
Please talk about it during meetings if it helps us, but don’t tell us about it during our lunch breaks, coffee breaks, while walking home, or whenever we’re trying to relax. It can be really overbearing on our part sometimes. So keep it down, ok?
Thanks!
I wonder if I’ll be like this some day or already like this today? ….hope not.
abl season is here
January 14, 2008
This means 3 basketball meets every weekend. Plus practice meets during weekdays.
Last saturday morning there was one in Kamagong with ACS folks.
Saturday afternoon was bench warming time @ ABL. Yeah, I’d really rather sit on that bench than be thrown out there against very very good competition. Yong, Marco, JR, Chickoy, Ely can take care of those guys anyway. I got to play too. and I bricked two free throw attempts. Still haven’t scored in my entire ABL career (this is my 2nd season).
Sunday is the usual RFM group..and the level of play there has just gone up a few notches higher over the past weekends.
Basketball..I love this game!
ipis @ oody’s glorietta

good stuff
January 7, 2008
Hanging out with Soon, Squats, Kris, Tal, Adik, Hen, etc.. back home really opened up my eyes to a lot of things I haven’t been aware of. Seems like I’ve been missing out on a lot of good stuff going on back home.
No worries though. There’s a whole lot more to come. =)
driving my dad crazy
January 1, 2008
2007 was really great!
Hope 2008 is much better.
Happy new year!
Now that that's out of the way…
See, I was driving pretty well back in high school. Then I moved to manila for college..and had no car.. ergo.. no more driving.
The past few weeks, I've been driving every chance I get. Dad always accompanies me, and let's just say, to a control freak like him, my driving makes him go nuts. =P
Anyway, there's good reason for that. I just got bump- devirginized last week when I hit a car making a u-turn at IT park. Too bad.. but no biggie. That's been taken care of. Nothing I can do about that now.
The past few days, I've been driving alone or with my siblings. It feels great. It still scares me. and my driving leaves much to improve, but to hell with disgruntled drivers.. I'm still learning anyway. =P
Anyway, dad really put his effort into teaching me. So thanks for that, my old man. =)
